In addition to "off the shelf" systems, WTC designs and build it's own computer systems for maximum performance. WTC was one of the first companies to apply Beowulf class supercomputers to commercial operations.
WTC
currently operates two cluster computers,
simulating a variety of natural and human
phenomena in real time forecast modes as
well as for hypothetical studies.
WTC operates six satellite ground stations,
including a NOAAPORT system, as well as
systems to receive AVHRR, MODIS, and other
satellite transmissions.
